The medicare diabetic shoe program was created prevent and help reduce the incidence of lower limb amputations. Those diabetics with decreased foot circulation and / or decreased sensation to feet qualify for this program. The doctor measures you for shoes and makes impressions of your feet. These measurements and impressions are used to choose a set of shoes and create therapeutic inserts for patients on a yearly basis. Our practice proudly participates in this program.
